HUTTEROTT CASTLE, ISTRIA
Located just a short boat ride from Rovinj, this beautiful castle wedding venue can be found on the island of St. Andrew. Also known as the Red Island, this beautiful place used to be the summer residence of the renowned Hutterott family. Currently housing a hotel and a seafood restaurant, Castle Hutterott is one of the most popular venues for destination weddings in Istria. The two terraces of the restaurant are suitable for wedding receptions of up to 150 guests. Civil and symbolic ceremonies can be held at the beautiful monument on the adjoining island of Maškin.
BELAJ CASTLE, ISTRIA
In the inlands of Istria, on a hilltop surrounded by vineyards, the beautiful Castle Belaj awaits. During its long history, this castle dating back to the 16th century, served many functions. It was a prison, post office and most recently as a restaurant and a wedding venue. There are three location on the Castle Belaj estate where weddings can be held: the restaurant area, the eastern castle annex and the lawn behind the castle. MARTINIS MARCHI, DALMATIA
Moving on to the southern parts of Croatia, this baroque castle on the island of Šolta dates back to the 18th century. Built by the noble Marchi family, today this castle houses a luxury heritage hotel, which melted harmoniously in the picturesque village of Maslinica. TRAKOŠĆAN CASTLE, CROATIAN ZAGORJE
Situated in the continental part of Croatia, in the Croatian Zagorje region, Trakošćan Castle is probably the most famous castle in the country. Beautifully preserved, overlooking a picturesque lake and housing a museum, this castle wedding venue is truly what dreams are made of. The eastern-most castle on our venues list is the Principovac Castle, built in the 19th century. It served as a summer residence of the Odescalchi family – The Dukes of Ilok, who stayed here during grape harvests and hunting seasons. The restored castle houses the Principovac restaurant with a rich gourmet offer – based on local ingredients and the flavours of the Croatian Danube and Slavonia. All of this is, of course, perfectly paired with a glass or two of their own wine, which this region is quite famous for.
