MAGICAL SURPRISE PROPOSAL IN ISTRIA: ELIZABETH & OLIVER
February, considered worldwide as the month of love. In the week leading up to Valentines Day, we would like to inspire all those souls in love to be courageous and make some grand gestures. You know what we mean – to propose! As your inspiration we bring you a story of a magical surprise proposal that took place in the heart of Istria. Read on and be inspired!
Istria is known as one of the most romantic and beautiful destinations in Croatia. It is also one of the most popular locations for destination weddings on the Adriatic coast. Breathtaking views of endless vineyards, olive groves and the Mediterranean Sea is what attracts most couples to so called “Croatian Tuscany”. Offering so many venues with amazing views and tradition, it is easy to create an unforgettable engagement day in Istria.
The story of how Oliver proposed to Elizabeth takes place in a small village close to Buje, in continental Istria. The proposal took place in the brand new San Canzian Village & Hotel, a perfect venue for one of the most romantic gestures in one’s life. The features of the hotel, typical for Istrian countryside provided a romantic and luxurious backdrop on the day.
Wanting his proposal to go smoothly on the day, Oliver contacted the Flammeum Weddings team to help with planning. He wanted to make Elizabeth feel special and express his love to her. Studio Brzak team were in charge of the decorations around the pool area where the proposal was to take place. The secluded spot between two olive groves was chosen to setup a lovely table for two. The styling idea was to combine a romantic atmosphere with a rustic touch, embracing the surrounding landscape and nature.
After a walk around the premises, Oliver took his Elizabeth down the memory line – a path of wooden stairs decorated with their photos since the day they met. Finally, he got down on one knee near the pool, with a background of breathtaking Istrian landscape. She said YES!
Samantha Smilovic and the professional photographers from Moon Weddings were there to capture every moment of this magical surprise proposal in Istria. The newly engaged couple even announced that they will marry in Istria and keep the same team of vendors for their wedding day!
