SINGLE SERVE WEDDING CAKES TREND

Wedding trends are changing from year to year. Due to COVID-19 and the anti-pandemic measures in place worldwide, many new and unexpected trends have appeared in the wedding industry. One of the most popular trends we are seeing on a global scale are micro weddings. These intimate gatherings bring focus back to what weddings are supposed to be all about – family and the celebration of love.

Guest lists are being scaled down and couples are focusing more on providing atmosphere and valuable experience to their wedding guests. Budgets are being repurposed on better entertainment, more décor and more extensive menus. In light of these trends, a new trend in the wedding gastronomy sphere has also emerged – single serve wedding cakes.

These tiny works of art can resemble their full size counterparts in almost everything – flavour, shape, even the detailed decorations! They are individually portioned, can be individually wrapped if necessary and limit food sharing in compliance with anti-pandemic measures. Complying with all of the dietary requirements your guests might be having is also a lot easier with single serve wedding cakes.

If you are worried you might miss the cake-cutting festivities, fear not – you can always have a “sweetheart cake”, to ceremonially cut into and feed your spouse with. No need to worry there won’t be enough cake for your guests, as they will each receive a single serve cake of their own.

Ensuring your single serve cakes match the theme and colour palette of the wedding itself can actually make them seem as if they are a part of the décor. They can make a beautiful display on the “sweet corner” alongside some other treats.
