“Unique venue with beautiful architecture and the most stunning garden.”

Unique places of historical significance offering calm and serenity are often difficult to find in large cities.  When you actually find such a place, you will always want to come back for a visit. One such place can be found in a quiet street in the second largest city in Croatia – Split.

Perivoj is a unique café and restaurant housed in a lovingly preserved family villa from the 20th century. Boasting stunning Art Nouveau architecture and surrounded by perfectly landscaped gardens, our Venue of the Week truly is a hidden gem in the city centre.

A city garden created for relaxation and meditation

The villa that houses Perivoj café & restaurant has a long & interesting history. It was built by one of the most famous architects of Croatian Art Nouveau movement – Mr. Kamilo Tončić noble Sorinjski with the help of his friend Mr. Karel Beneš from Prague, a well-known architect. The main focal point of this unique venue is the beautifully landscaped garden with Mediterranean plants and herbs, a real horticultural work of art. Today, both the villa and the garden are under the protection of the Croatian Ministry of Culture.

Located only a couple of hundred meters away from the Diocletian’s Palace, this oasis of peace makes for a perfect wedding venue. The garden surroundings with the beautiful central fountain make for such a romantic atmosphere. Perivoj is the perfect venue for outdoor weddings of up to 150 guests. A variety of catering options and professional staff will be at your disposal should you decide to host your special day in these magical gardens. We don’t know about you, but we are truly smitten by the beauty of this place!
