The trend of intimate elopement weddings continues in 2021.

An intimate wedding of two people is a special experience. The ceremony itself, the choice of location and destination are a reflection of the true character of the newlyweds. While the elopement is often associated with exotic foreign destinations, this styled shoot in an extravagant hotel location is proof that what suits your personal experience of an intimate ceremony is often closer than you thought – located at the foot of a magical town on a hill, on a peninsula more beautiful than Tuscany itself.

Wedding elopements have often been mentioned in the last year as an industry response to the pandemic. However, they are actually a style that characterizes newlyweds eager for an intimate celebration where the emphasis is on their personal experience. The pandemic has only shown how many such couples there really are. If you are one of these couples, you will fall in love with this styled shoot in the heart of magical Istria, which the wedding planner – Ticiana Peteh, and photographer – Nina Roland, turned into a real elopement wedding.

Packed with medieval towns on magical hills that offer panoramas similar to some in Italy, Istria is emerging as one of the favourite Croatian destinations for an intimate wedding for two. Right at the foot of the magical Motovun, a small town on top of a hill surrounded by wine terraces, lies the imposing design hotel Roxanich.

What makes Roxanich stand out from every other hotel on this magical peninsula? Extravagant interior, a restaurant with top delicacies paired with homemade wines and a striking terrace with a water mirror that turns the ambience into a fairy tale scene at sunset. Sounds like the ideal location to say the fateful ‘I do’ with the views of Roxanich vineyards and the sleeping Mirna river valley in the background.

The special character of the hotel full of photogenic microlocations – from bedrooms, restaurant, wine bar to the wine cellar – was complemented with a simple styling based on a combination of black and white with gold details. This created a glamorous wedding ambience that gives superb and somewhat artistic wedding photos.

Timeless elegance characterized by simplicity is always a challenging solution when it comes to wedding dresses and wedding suits. It seems to us that the winning combination is a silk wedding dress by Croatian designer Ivana Čizmadija, owner of the Gray Bridal brand and the groom’s suit by designer Anja Stehlik. Although the bride wore a seemingly unusual bouquet, the message behind it is quite clear. The combination of white roses and laurels gently conveys that pure, eternal love always wins, and we would only briefly add: Love rocks at Rox!
